    I would like to “TRY” vegan for a month…can you have bread?

      Jo,
      Great! Giving up meat can be challenging as most people don’t know what to eat. I’ll be providing a five day dinner menu in Tuesday’s post. You can use that post as starting point. I’ll include recipes with the menu.

      I use the internet and seach vegetarian recipes.Amazon has a huge selection of vegetarian cookbooks that can help you as well–these provide a wealth of recipes for inspiration. You can use the post on spaghetti squash too–make your usual spaghetti sauce and add some of your favorite veggies–mushrooms, zuchinni, squash–in place of meat.

      Bread, pasta, and rice are all allowed on a vegan and vegetarian diet, but do limit how much of these you eat. Those carbs can get you if you’re watching your waist line!

      The most important thing to remember is that no one is perfect. As you long as you are making improvements in your diet and lifestyle–you’re doing fabulously!

    I’ve cooked your bean chili twice since you presented at the Lft. library (obviously, that was a popular dish), and more recently I cooked your light stroganoff (which may not have been ‘light’ since we ate twice or three times as much as we should have, I’m sure). Tonight I think I’ll make your salad dressing then ‘peruse’ more quick recipes. (I find if I cook a large dish on Sunday night I’m happy to eat Meatless on Monday… and leftovers give use more positive choices for a day or so afterwards!) Thanks!

    Vegetarian burritos were good, too! Maybe you could add a little ‘suggested serving size’ section to your recipes. I may be overeating…!
